Arrival and Welcome
We kindly ask that guests arrive 5–10 minutes early to allow time to settle in and enjoy a welcome snack. Street parking is available just steps from our home. If you require driveway parking, please reach out in advance so we can accommodate you. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and invited to review the menu and tea selection before service begins.
Our Home and Companions
Please note that the Bergunzi House is a private residence and home to a friendly dog, Henry, and a cat, Chloe. While they are not part of the tea service during gatherings, their presence is part of the character and charm of our home.
Guidelines for Young Guests
Steep Society is designed as a quiet, intimate experience. We welcome guests 18 and older, as well as children ages 6 and up when attending with an adult.
Each guest is provided with a full tea service and a reserved place at the table, so all attendees—including children—require a ticket.
Nursing infants are welcome. We ask that if a nursing baby is unsettled, you respect the others at the event and remove yourself to an adjoining room until you can rejoin the group.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to hosting you.
Our Kitchen and Preparation
All items served at Private Steep Society are prepared in our home kitchen as part of a private, in-home dining experience in accordance with Ohio guidelines.
While our kitchen is not licensed or inspected in the same way as a commercial establishment, great care is taken in the preparation and handling of each item. Guests with specific dietary concerns are encouraged to reach out in advance.
Culinary Considerations
If you have specific dietary restrictions or allergies, please contact us in advance so we can accommodate your needs. We aim to ensure that all guests enjoy a safe and delightful tea experience.
Recommended Attire
Guests are encouraged to dress for an afternoon of elegance and charm. Think spring or summer dresses, hats, or garden-party attire. For playful themed teas, subtle accessories related to the theme are welcome!
Capturing the Moment
We love seeing your memories from your visit! Please feel free to take photos and share them on social media—tag us @PrivateSteepSociety so we can see your beautiful moments. During each tea, we may also capture photos and videos of the tables, details, and guests enjoying their experience to share on our social media platforms and for marketing purposes. By attending, you agree that your image may appear in these materials. We strive to represent each event with elegance and respect, celebrating the joy and charm of your visit.
Rescheduling & Contact
If you need to reschedule or cancel, please notify us at least 1 week in advance. For any questions or special requests, we are delighted to assist—reach out via email or phone.
Private Tea Reservation Policy
To reserve your private afternoon tea experience, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to your event.
Reservations must be made 2 weeks prior to the event and will require payment in full at the time of booking.
Because each private tea is custom planned, ingredients are purchased specifically for your event, and the date is reserved exclusively for your group, all payments are non-refundable.
